What is Foster the Future online tutoring?

Foster the Future Online tutoring was started to help regional kids in care access the same high quality tutoring available in a big city. As COVID-19 has shaped our society we now offer this to metropolitan students who are unable to receive in-person tutoring due to a lack of available tutors, or due to being in the high risk category to COVID-19. All students from K - 12 are eligible to receive online tutoring.

How does online tutoring work?

We provide online tutoring through Zoom. Foster the Future provides this at absolutely no charge to the students or carers - its all free - just like in-person tutoring. Zoom provides a handy virtual whiteboard and annotation service allowing for the student and tutor to discuss content like they are in person.

Foster the Future requires a number of safety guidelines to help to ensure student safety online. This includes preventing students from displaying their webcam and revealing personal information. More detailed guidelines can be provided upon request.
